The Swannies come into the 2017 Premiership as many people’s favourites to take out their sixth flag. A core group who has reached the heights before is supplemented this year, by many recruits from Winter Championship teams. Ronan Cull, has come to the club from a stint in Australia, via a brief spell with the Dublin Demons in the Off Season, North Leinster Giants stalwart Ciaran Caffrey joins too, as does Murtagh Condron, whose impact has been phenomenal out of season. Having played for the Giants in the Winter competition, he has forced his way into Ireland’s IC17 squad and will be looking to gain valuable experience in the Premiership.

Add to this the form of Gavin Murray, Liam Burns, Seamus Owens and a rejuvenated Paul O’ Halloran and the Swans core looks particularly strong and they still have some of the most experienced Premiership players in the country to call on.
